Sumiyaki Unafuji Kyoto Kiyomizu Bettei is located halfway up Gojozaka, the historic approach to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. We aim to become a place that blends into the daily lives of Kyoto residents as well as tourists and be loved for many years to come. For overseas guests, it will be a special space where they can have their first authentic experience of eel, a part of Japanese food culture.
Unafuji opens its largest store in Kyoto to mark its 30th anniversary
To mark the 30th anniversary of its founding, Sumiyaki Unafuji will open its largest store ever in the iconic location of the approach to Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto. This is not just a store opening, but a challenge to connect the history of Unafuji and Japanese food culture to the future. The taste and hospitality of Unafuji , born in Nagoya, will be combined with the atmosphere of the ancient capital to create a base for delivering an "authentic eel experience" to customers from all over the world. With 104 seats, the largest number in Unafuji history, the store also has a wide range of private rooms, and can accommodate a variety of needs, from special occasions for locals to tourists and inbound demand.
Floor configuration
1st floor: Entrance hall
Guests are welcomed in a spacious entrance hall. Dining spaces are available on the first basement floor and the second floor. The first basement floor has seven private rooms (for 4 or 6 people), with a total of 34 seats. It is a calm space that emphasizes privacy. The second floor has one private room (for 8 people), 32 table seats, and 30 bench seats. It is ideal for groups and can accommodate a variety of occasions. Please feel free to use it for dining near Kiyomizu-dera Temple or for business meetings.
